I also had $199 in fraudulent charge on my credit card. Have never heard of co. or had wireless insurance. You should definitely contact your credit card co., who will then contact Asurion.

asurian wireless insurance charged $199 to my credit card (not authorized). I reported it to the credit card co. They will refund the charge, but unfortunately going over your credit card statements for unauthorized charges is a part of modern life. :-/

09/06/2017 Assurion wireless withdrew $199.00 out of my account saying it was for a claim filed by someone else. I canceled insurance with them in 2003 when I tried to file a claim and learned how bad the company is. Seems like this happens a lot from what I'm reading here. Having to cancel my card and pursue fraudulent charges also.

It's August 2017, and they are still at it. Asurion Wireless Insurance posted a $199 fraudulent charge to my account. I have never heard of this company and have never purchased wireless insurance. I called the bank and cancelled card immediately.

I had 3 unknown charges from Asurion in the amounts of $199, $1, $1. I am 99.9% sure a Online Cricket Customer Service Representative was responsible for these charges as he asked me about the credit card I used for autopay. Asurion tracked the charge and stated someone in North Carolina ordered an IPhone. Additionally, a $10 charge to T-Mobile was made (I have never used Asurion or T-Mobile)

Apparently Asurion's business plan is to continue to allow thieves to fraudulently bill the law abiding consumer. Just got my privilege to fork over $199. Of course if the costs of providing and shipping over night replacement credit cards were billed directly to the CEO of Asurion they might change their ways. Our inconvenience should belong to Asurion --- but that will never happen I am sure.

4/28/15 - - They recently attempted to charge my card for $169. Luckily I was notified by my card holder a few hours before hand that the card had been charged 20 cents in California and it was likely that the card had been compromised. It was canceled and then a few hours later I received a notification that it was used by this company, but declined since the card had been closed. It seems that this company has had a lot of issues with fraudulent charges. You'd think they would rethink their processes because some thing is obviously wrong. Can nothing be done?

I noticed a pending charge of $149 on one of our church's debit cards today. Called Chase Bank and the cancelled the card and they have ALREADY refunded our money. Definitely call your bank if you receive an unauthorized charge from this company.

I never heard of that company and when I saw a charge in my bank account for $169, I immediately called the bank. The[ customer service lady was telling me to call them to find out what the charge was for. I've got pissed since I never dealt with that company and shouldn't see unauthorized charges in my account (I asked the lady if that was okay for the bank to allow anyone charge depositors without any kind of authorization and then she asked if I wanted to talk to their fraud "prevention" department, which I thought was ironic since they could have prevented this fraud if they had checked for authorization to begin with). Then, the bank.fraud prevention lady told me that it is a legit insurance company, but apparently hackers use stolen credit card information to purchase insurance from them on a cellphone that they will then claim stolen (which I guess they claim as new when buying the insurance or for an expensive model that they really don't have). So apparently people that work at the bank know about this fraud but try to get out of having to compensate their customers for their own negligence. I don't think there is much we can do to protect ourselves since you realized that you have been robbed AFTER it has already happened (under the bank's nose).
