IT IS LEGITIMATE. I have had an account with CR for about a couple of years. My recollection is that there is a notice when you sign up that auto renewal will take place. But that is two years ago, and I am not 100% certain now. However, I do recall that the renewal was automatic last year. I had lost my original credit card used on this account, and the card number was changed. I had a charge on that new card number for renewal last month, and I never updated it on their site. In calling CR, I found that the bank authorized the change to the new account number. I was under the impression that banks didn't do this. Anyway, you can change the billing from auto renewal to manual. The representative at CR did it for me. But I suspect that you can also do it yourself via your account profile. And if you can't recall your UID or PW, CR will send prompts to your Email to notify you what your UID is, or allow you to change your PW. I use them so seldom, I did not recall my account info.

Yes, I was also charged the Mysterious 30.00 out of nowhere from this CR Consumers with no warning... They will be hearing from me...
