I have contacted WinZip to cancel and halt monthly charges for the service since I no longer have home internet service anymore. I am sharing a friend's email for now (this email) They refuse to stop the charges though I have called several times. I sent an email to support on the website as well. I need help since this seems to be a scam service.

THANK YOU Bill Guard. Because of your contact with the merchant they called and the issue is resolved. The charge was for an automatic renewal that I never agreed to. They have cancelled that and will reverse the charge. Thanks Again!

This charge was not authorized by me. Attempts to contact merchant by phone have been unsuccessful. Waiting for response to email sent. AMEX states they cannot help me because of WinZips "no signature required" policy.

I simply did not authorize this charge and repeated attempts to contact the customer service number given have been unsuccessful. I am still waiting a reply to an email although I don't expect any real resolution. The charge was a small amount but to me its the principal. I didn't authorize it. All information given below is the information I received from my credit card company who will not help me dispute this because of WinZip's "paperless" system.

I downloaded Winzip but saw nothing about being charged!

I logged onto my Netbank and discovered WinZip has charged my bank account 7.56. I don't know how, I don't know why, but what I do know is I was unaware I was about to be charged, and if I had known I would certainly have done all I could to stop the charge taking place! I am a student with limited income, and I want an assurance that I will not be charged again (pref money back too).

I filed a "Dispute." My complete "rant" is listed below. (Had to cut it in half. Read from lower pane first. Sorry.)
Corel, I have been a customer all the way back to v 4.x of Word Perfect. So disapointed in your conduct !!

Please read from the Lowest post first. Thank you.

This way a person is reminded and can assure there will be money in the Account. Also, a customer could be forewarned that an attempted "mugging" was about to occur. I wonder how many customers let these "little charges" slip through due to this NO NOTIFICATION process, not noticing it or thinking it isn't worth the "hassle." WHAT A PETTY WAY TO ADD TO YOUR BOTTOM LINE. SHAME, SHAME. Please note: While you may rely on customers not being able to realize immediate and easy relief from your "NO PAPER" practices vis a vis Credit Card companies “dispute assistance,” New Federal and State laws in place covering "Abuse of the Elderly" and " Abuse of the Disabled" may "trump" your weasel practices. In view of this being a transaction with a Bank over the Internet, Federal law, with FBI, FTC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, et al, ententes become involved. (Hum, credit/debit cards, fraudulent systematic charges, Secret Service, Treasury Dept., may also have jurisdiction.) I know that the San Francisco Bar Association has an energetic, young, eager staff group of Attorneys that specialize in "Crimes Against the Elderly and Disabled." To date, I have only availed myself of their advice, however, they have stressed that they stand ready to help in ALL legal matters as Advocates for the Elderly/Disabled, Pro Bono. From the number of people complaining via this forum, a forum which I feel very fortunate to have located, it would appear that this type of conduct may rise to the level of "Unfair Business Practices," read that as "unlawful pattern of conduct." (I have no other information to provide considering I have not been told what this $9.95 is for. If you need more information, I need more information!!) Please advise, Thank you.

My bank checking account was charged but I did not authorize it and I was not provided with any details, nor a bill describing what this might be for. As I used a MasterCard Debit Card against my checking, I do not have the protection a credit card might provide. Although, having read what other abused souls have listed here, I don't think it would matter. THIS IS A DISGUSTING BUSINESS PRACTICE, UNWORTHY OF COREL. There is NO notification via email or any other method concerning this Debit. I NEVER pre-authorize anything as I am on permanent disability and have barely enough money to live/eat. If I try to keep what little software I have left current, I must save for months in order to purchase upgrades. Soon, I will not have that concern anymore. Until I kick-off or become unable to use a computer, Please DO NOT STEAL money from my very small food budget. WinZIP/Corel should be required to PROVE they have a right/authorization to take money out of my pocket. (Invoking a "We have a No Paper Policy" as an excuse for not having to have to PROVE their assertions of right to Debit is despicable.). Corel should out of simple courtesy email notification of an upcoming "recurring" payment.

I have purchased a software form WinZip Computing, PO Box 540, Mansfield, CT 06268, USA, an year ago. Yesterday, WinZip charged my credit card without any authorization. I did not request or get any products from WinZip recently, nor bills for those products. Surprisingly, I can't call the WinZip, since they only communicate via fax and e-mail.

My credit card was charged but I did not authorize it and I did not get the license details, nor the bill for this purchase. Kindly contact me.

The owner of this credit card passed away in April of 2012. A charge for $7.18 showed up on a credit card that had not been closed out on Oct. 15, 2012.
