Had to work for ADP in El Paso, TX. Used my card to purchase a Hershey's chocolate bar, that stated "$1.00" and was charged $1.50 on my visa. Is this normal?

02/19/2014 - at the YWCA in Minneapolis, MN I was charged for four can's of pop but only received two. I have $3.00 total I'm looking to get reimbursed for. The payment system was horrible and I'm guessing this company is making off with a lot of $ they don't deserve to have. And, of course no 800# to contact someone to reverse the charges.

On 11/10 at 5:58 PM I was in the emergency room at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tn. I decided to get a snack from the vending machine but had no change and the machine would not change a $5.. bill. I noticed that the machine took debit cards so I swiped mine. It said approved and I entered selection. Nothing happened and I looked at the display and it said to insert more money. Then after a few seconds it went back to the default screen to swipe my card. The item I was trying to get had a price of $1.35 on it and my card was charged $1.50. I got nothing for my money. They told me there was nothing they could do there at the ER. I guess this will teach me to take change, or at least $1.00 bills when I go to the ER again.

These hit my account when my atm card was skimmed. According to my bank, there are people using this to "test" generated or compromised card numbers. They hit up a batch of card numbers with small, easy to miss transactions and see which ones get through before making larger withdrawals. While there may be legit vending services somewhere by the same name, be careful if you see this show up in your account statements and don't know for sure where it came from.

It seems that the company that operates the credit card swipers on many vending machines around the US is located in Malvern, PA, and the charge for whatever you bought is charged to that location, regardless of where you bought it. It is correctly charged, if you take into account the 10 cent credit card fee that seems to be charged every time I use it to buy a $1.25 M&Ms and get charged $1.35.

Miami, FL. Machine says $1.50...does not accept cash!!!! Was charged $3 per soda. $12 for 4 sodas is outrageous. Hotel says they aren't responsible to call number on the machine!! No number on machine. Un-freakin-believable

Location: Triton College, River Grove, IL Cash price is a $1 which is not noted on many of their machines. If you use a credit card, price comes out to $1.35, which is also not clearly marked on their machines. The customer will find out about this AFTER the purchase has been made. This is a tactic used by many gas-stations, who like to charge a higher prices for "convenience of using a credit card". I was overcharged by roughly $10 by Snack Soda Vending who's financial offices are located in Malvern, PA. The $10 wasted with Snack Soda Vending could have been used at a reputable restaurant for a decent meal. This is not a problem with me, but if companies like Snack Soda Vending and others like to make money by nickel & dime-ing their customers, then they should at least include BOTH CASH & CREDIT prices on their machines. 2012 PJP

I noticed at my college they have a snack machine with snacks up to a $1.25 however what I wanted costed only a dollar. I swiped once but was indecisive in what to choose either a honey bun or a cinnamon roll.I took to much time deciding so I swiped again.still unable to choose.this time I swipe it says swipe a valid card like i'm out of money I got like 4 dollars on my debit card whats going on so I go online and notice I have 3($1.50 each) dollars out of my account.I wanted a refund but I had to call in the number on the machine and it was a funeral parlor instead of the right number!I ended up getting half my money back later in my account it says pending for the other so i'll get the rest. turns out if you're unsure of what you want decide first before swiping otherwise you'll have to wait a while for you to be refunded. Also someone up here pointed out that the machine does take more than the items in the machine to make sure you have enough before the purchase. thanks take care God bless and whatnot!

Often times the machine will "pre-approve" your card for a few dollars more than the most expensive item in the machine. This way, you can buy multiple items in one transaction. Say you buy something that is $.85, your bank site may say the pending charge is $5 but when it clears, it should go to the actual price. If it does not, then you need to contact your bank/the company. Be patient though! It should correct itself when the charge clears.

I was at a children's hospital in MN when I was duped into buying garbage food from the vending machine...(is it the vulnerability of being at a children's hospital??) So not only are you stressed because your kid is recovering from surgery but then you have to deal with the wrong amount on your c/c because you were forced to eat crap from a machine in the first place!!! I have already disputed this with my bank and now would like an explanation as to why the machine states the price is $1.50 but your charged $2.50 the interesting part of it all is it came in pending as the correct amount. But when it posted it was more than it was suppose too be. Seems petty but if they did this to let say a million people they would be millionaires!! I have reported them to my bank and now i am going to report them to the hospital...hopefully this vending company scamming off vulnerable people will be put out of business!! Not cool...do not use vending machines at Children's Hospitals of Minnesota (Minneapolis Campus)

As for the Sprinkles charge, I just spoke to them and that little extra on top of the cupcake price is because you are paying for the little favor box it comes in. They did confirm the address being used right now is Malvern, PA.

These are not fraudulent charges they can be from anything where you swipe your card from a carwash to an actual soda machine it's just the company that is in charge of the card reader

if you dont know where this charge from it was probably from a random machine that accepts credit cards. It was probably used to test to see if your cloned credit card worked. After that the thief will use your credit card quickly at a store such as walmart. Hopefully if its out of state use your bank will catch it and lock your card before more charges get put on.
